“It takes a village to raise a child” and in the case of our One Room Challenge we quickly learned that it takes a village to complete two rooms for two beautiful children - my niece Audrey May and nephew Clark Douglas.

It’s Week 5 of the One Room Challenge- the week where last minute painting, sewing, art placement, florals and photography magically come together (in my case because I burn the midnight oil once my “work work” day is done and my munchkins are in bed).

After a crazy week including a whirlwind trip to Montreal for work and a PD day with the munchkins we are making progress with our two special rooms for Week 3 of our Better Homes & Gardens One Rooms Challenge.

Today I’m sharing my design plans and inspiration for both spaces, using many antique and vintage finds for a layered look that has been achieved over time and not over the short 5 weeks of this challenge.

My brother Paul from Brancon Construction was my contractor for all of my One Room Challenge entries so far. When thinking about which room to do for the 2018 fall challenge I asked Paul and my sister-in-law Kristy if they would be willing to let me experiment in their home and the answer was YES!
