It's Week 2 of the One Room Challenge and I'm sharing my inspiration and design direction for my very own Principle Bedroom/Office! When looking for design inspiration, I started right here in Canada with Ines Mazzotta of Kelly Hopter Interiors.

For my very first One Room Challenge earlier this spring I worked with my favourite client yet, my daughter Lily. She absolutely loved her room as did my son Matthew, so much so, that he asked for his own room refresh!

Last fall was my first challenge and it was a huge learning experience for me.  This time I'm doing things differently starting with some advanced planning, ordering and drafting blog posts. I will also be my own client - designing my principle bedroom which will also need to perform double duty as my home office.  

One of Lily's asks for her redesigned big girl room was for "a dresser that has drawers that slide easily". Her other request for her dresser was that it be "hot pink" so we took a Kijiji find and redesigned it with Ralph Lauren's "Palm Beach Pink" paint. 

For our first One Room Challenge this spring we tackled Lily's room. When we were looking through Pinterest for inspiration she saw the "Downing" desk by Kate Spade, loved it and we never looked back!
